Revitate Announces Social Impact Council

Leading alternative investment firm announces advisory group of business and civic leaders to help shape firm’s social impact strategy

Alternative investment management firm Revitate has announced the formation of a new Social Impact Council comprised of a diverse, bipartisan, and multidisciplinary group of leaders with deep community, government, and business expertise:

  • Hon. Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, former Democratic Mayor of Baltimore and CEO, SRB & Associates

  • Hon. Mick Cornett, former Republican Mayor of Oklahoma City and Author, The Next American City

  • Josh Childress, CEO, LandSpire Group and former NBA player

  • Derrick Morgan, Managing Partner, KNGDM Group and former NFL player

  • Rachel Reilly, Founder, Aces and Arches and former Director of Impact Strategy, EIG

  • Dr. Brett Theodos, Senior Fellow, Urban Institute

Chairing the Social Impact Council will be Lisa Merage, Revitate Managing Partner and Chief Impact Officer. Revitate Partner and Chief Operating Officer Kunal Merchant will also advise and support the Council.

“Revitate is honored to have such an exceptional group supporting our efforts to integrate innovative and authentic social impact strategies into our business,” said Ms. Merage. “I thank all of our Council members for their commitment to Revitate and to our broader vision and mission around social impact.”

Social Impact Council members will focus their efforts around two key areas:

(1) assisting Revitate in identifying, engaging, and partnering with key leaders and constituencies in communities of focus for Revitate’s investment strategies; and (2) assisting in the development and implementation of impact assessment tools to evaluate how effectively current and potential investment opportunities align with local community priorities and contribute to local social impact.

“One of the best ways to support economic revitalization is through strategic investments that deliver new capital and new opportunity to communities in need,” said Council Member Josh Childress, President and CEO of the LandSpire Group. “I applaud Revitate’s continued commitment to living their values and am honored to contribute to their work as a Council Member.”

Across multiple investment strategies, Revitate seeks to bring new capital, housing, jobs, and community benefit to historically overlooked and emerging neighborhoods. Current strategies include a multifamily housing platform focused on the preservation of workforce housing in Midwest communities, and an opportunity zone platform focused on new housing and industrial developments in higher need communities across the United States.

“The goal of social impact real estate projects is to help drive jobs and wealth creation within lower-income neighborhoods,” said Council Member Derrick Morgan. “Revitate is taking that important step with the formation of its Social Impact Council. I look forward to working with and advising Revitate on its upcoming projects.”
